Louisville Veterinarians at Stony Brook Animal Hospital

Laura Fulkerson, DVM

A native of Louisville, Ky, Dr. Fulkerson completed her Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Biology at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She continued at The University of Tennessee to complete her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After returning to Louisville, Dr. Fulkerson has practiced as both an associate and as a relief veterinarian. It has been a lifelong dream to own a practice and she is very excited to share this endeavor with her friend and partner, Dr. Todd Yates.

Outside of work, Dr. Fulkerson enjoys time with her family. She has a son, Fox, and twin daughters, Emmry and Tessa. Her household also includes her 18 year old cat, Macy; Maddie, a 10 year old Rottweiler; and Trauma, a 6 year old lab. Once upon a time Dr. Fulkerson found time for travel, camping, and kayaking in her spare time.

Todd Yates, DVM

Born in Louisville, KY, Dr. Todd Yates grew up in the Jeffersontown area. After completing his B.S. at Eastern Kentucky University, he went on to recieve his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Yates practiced in Wilmington, NC after graduation before relocating back to Louisville to fulfill his dream of practice ownership. Along with Dr. Laura Fulkerson, he founded Stony Brook Animal Hospital in 2009.

Outside of work, Dr. Yates enjoys golf, skiing, fishing, travel and UofL sports. His household includes two cats, Bert and Skeletor.
