I have been in the veterinary field for 4 years. I started working as a receptionist in a mixed animal practice. We saw many animals, from dogs and cats to snakes and raptors. After a year as a receptionist, I began working at a 24 hour small animal emergency practice as a technician. I also have a degree in cullinary arts, but working with animals is my choice of career. I have a total of 6 dogs: Chezney (lab/rottie mix), Chewbakka (shih tzu mix), Cali (wire hair terrier), Beamer (Jack Russell mix), Achilles (American Staffordshire), and Marley (yorkie). I also have a black caped conure, Ritchie, that can talk and say his own name!

I have worked in the veterinary field since 2005. My first experience in a veterinary clinic was for a clinic that saw small animals, exotics, and even wildlife. This exposed me to everything from dogs and cats to bobcats and bald eagles. I have a soft spot for chow chows and cats. I currently do not own any pets because I live with someone who is incredibly allergic. Since I don't have pets of my own I love working in an environment where I can enjoy other people's pets and help them care for them.

I obtained my B.A. in Integrated Strategic Communications from the University of Kentucky in 2006. Following graduation I went on to school to fulfill my prerequisites for veterinary school. During this time I also volunteered and worked in equine, exotic, mixed animal, small animal, and emergency hospitals. In January of 2008 I began veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and have completed my first two years. I currently have one pet of my own, Sadie, a 4 year old black lab who never ceases to make me smile.
